Exciting conversations at Snape Maltings

First and foremost, a huge thank you to Bella for inviting us along and for continuing to champion the incredible food and drink community across our region. Events like these are a brilliant reminder of just how innovative, collaborative and welcoming the sector can be.

One of the highlights of the evening was the opportunity to catch up with so many familiar faces from businesses we already work with and support. As always, it's inspiring to hear what's happening across the sector and to learn about the exciting projects and ideas people are bringing to life.

Just as exciting, though, was meeting a number of businesses that we hadn't had the chance to speak with before. In fact, the conversations were so valuable that our diaries for next week are already filling up with follow-up meetings. We're incredibly passionate about supporting food and drink innovators, and it's always rewarding to discover new ways we can help businesses access the guidance, opportunities and connections they need to thrive.

Of course, no BBQ would be complete without great food, and this event certainly delivered. The food was absolutely immense. Judging by the queues, I don't think we were the only ones who thought so either. I'm fairly certain most attendees went back for seconds at least once!

While I don't drink alcohol myself, it was great to see such a fantastic showcase of local producers. Ark Wines and Flint Vineyard were both receiving plenty of attention throughout the evening, while Jack Rabbit Brewery introduced many of us to something completely new. It's always encouraging to see the breadth and quality of products being produced locally.

One thing we're slightly disappointed about is that we didn't manage to take a single photo. Not of the event. Not of the amazing food. Not even of the beautiful Snape Maltings setting. But on reflection, that's probably a good sign. We were simply too busy enjoying the conversations, meeting new people and catching up with old friends.

We also had the opportunity to showcase some brand-new promotional cards highlighting the events and workshops we deliver for organisations across East Suffolk. These programmes are available free of charge to East Suffolk-based organisations thanks to the ongoing support of East Suffolk Council and funding from Sizewell C.

There are some fantastic opportunities available, and we're always keen to ensure businesses know what support is out there and how to access it.
